Biblical Chronology

Are biblical events like the exodus and the flood real events that have also been recorded by other cultures, and led to the establishment of the belief in the Gods?

The biblical section principally uses the information contained in the bible to build a timeline, and some of this biblical information has been displayed on several webpages on this site. However not all of this information will appear on the biblical chart produced in this section as I was trying to keep it from becoming too wordy; which I am afraid despite my attempts, still contains a large amount of text.

I have become a little tied down with trying to sort out some of the problems found with the chronology of the kings of Judah and Israel and you will be able to see a few webpages set aside to explain the difficulties involved in trying to resolve these issues. I felt it necessary to include two interregnums, which I am sure will upset some people, but I didn't feel that I had much choice. It is important to remember that the exact chronology of the kings of Israel and Judah is really not essential to the main theme of the project which is to try and find evidence for the existence of these global events. However every attempt as been made to keep the chronology as faithful to biblical script as possible.

In this biblical section there are some obvious candidates for the global events that we are searching for, such as the Flood, and the Exodus. Perhaps we could consider the Angel of the Lord that appears in the time of David and which was held responsible for a plague at the time. There are other candidates for possible global events and these will be considered elsewhere.

This section is near completion but there is the possibility that the biblical chronology as described by Josephus will be looked at in closer detail, as it does produce a different timeline than the one that is produced by using the conventional biblical chronology. Also I would like to look at the chronology of the kings of Israel and Judah in a separate graphic in an attempt to resolve some of the difficulties found there.

Hopefully some of the information contained in this section will be of use and of interest to some people. If by chance there are any mistakes, whether basic and trivial mistakes in spelling or grammar, or more important mistakes to do with relaying of facts or errors of my own making, please don't hesitate to let me know as I would be most grateful.
